This is an except from my book, Assassin’s Heart. You can pick it up from Total-E-Bound by clicking the cover over there in the sidebar. Enjoy!
“This store has always—always—been nothing but Greeks and I let one—one—fucking Italian in here and look what happens.”
“I’m German-Italian, you old fuck!”
The old man laughed in derision. “And that’s supposed to make everything all right?”
“No, it doesn’t make it all right, but this will.” With those final words, Rhys pulled the trigger of his gun, sending a bullet into the skull of his former employer and the father of one of his best friends.
As does my writing at the moment. I had fully planned to get some serious writing done this past week, but it seems as though every time I was on a roll, I had to stop to take care of something and then, well, I just couldn’t find my groove again. So I closed my docs and did something else. I really want to get Voyeur finished so I can get it submitted, so I am going to make a concerted effort to get it completed.
I am going to push through and see how much I can get completed today, hopefully a large chunk. Wish me luck!
Another snippet from my WiP Voyeur. Enjoy!
Gage smirked. “And is there a line of people waiting for the chance to do that?”
“One of the guys who tends bar, Bryce, has asked me out a couple of times. I’m not really sure I want to take him up on it though.”
“Why not? I’ve known Bryce for years. He’s a good guy.”
Chi placed his plate on the nightstand. “Well, if you haven’t noticed,” he paused and took Gage’s plate, setting it with his. “I’m more interested in you.”
Gage swallowed hard at the intense look in Chi’s eyes. “The, uh,” he cleared his throat, “feeling is mutual.”
Normally that title might scare some folks, but for me? Well, I love it. I have my current manuscript all mapped out, but I just need to get to writing it.
For some reason, I have a hard time starting to write, but once I do, I am a writing machine. I desperately wanted to get my current project done by this weekend, but at the rate I’m going, it might not be done until next week.
Here’s to hoping I can get my ass in gear today.
This is an excerpt from a work currently in progress called Voyeur. Hope you enjoy it!
“This is by far bigger than I ever expected,” Ben said as he placed his arm over Gage’s shoulders.
Gage grinned smugly. “Didn’t I tell you not to ever doubt me, Benny? How long have we known each other?”
“Since we were five, so thirty years.”
“Thirty years. And still you doubt me when I tell you something is going to blow the fuck up.”
“In my defense, your failures have far outweighed your successes.”
Gage gasped and grabbed his at his chest. “Ouch, that hurt.”
Ben rolled his eyes walked slowly toward the entrance. “I’m sure you’ll get over it. Come on, let’s get back in there and enjoy all our hard work.”
So, it took me almost a week to thoroughly go through my rejected manuscript and fix what I saw to be completely… well for lack of a better word, fucked. I have resubmitted it and will wait anxiously to hear back on it. Last time it took them almost eight weeks to say no, I wonder how long it’ll take this time.
I’ve also gone back to working on my fairy tale series. That one, I am taking a look at a bunch of different publishers. It’s by far the longest piece I have written and it’s not even done yet! Completed so far: Sleeping Beauty (which is posted here), Beauty and the Beast (also posted here), Cinderella and Snow White. Currently in progress: Little Red Riding Hood. That last one is giving me fits. I have a few different ways that I want to tackle it and when I get started going in one direction… I end up not wanting that one and going in another. I doubt this thing will ever get done enough for me to submit it, but I must keep chugging on. 🙂
Manuscripts on the horizon. There are many. *insert grin here* I have taken a few days off from writing, but will be back hard at work tomorrow. I have a YA novel to start and I really want to get that going. I have been thinking about it for a long time and I hope it will be something that will allow me to jump to mainstream writing. Yes, I love writing the M/M, sex stuff, but I also want to be able to have something out there that I wouldn’t mind my teenager reading. He’s so proud of his mom for taking the step to get published and he’s my biggest fan, but he can’t read any of my work. Not yet at least… I feel he’s too young, but one day, I’ll share my works with him. Who knows? I may inspire him to write as well.
One can only hope.
This is a little excerpt from a WiP that has been shelved for another day.
“So, do you have a name?”
Looking up, I raised my eyebrow and smiled. “Sure, doesn’t everybody?”
“Yeah, I guess they do. What’s yours?”
“What’s yours?” I shot back with a sarcastic tone lacing my voice.
“Royce Fincher at your service, ma’am.”
“Don’t call me ma’am,” I began as I placed his change on the counter in front of me, “makes me feel older than I actually am.”
