He opened his mouth to speak, but stopped when Xavier narrowed his eyes at him.
“What were you trying to do? Make me let my guard down? Make it easier to kill me?”
Adam snickered and shook his head. “I meant what I said, Xavier. You intrigue me, but believe me, if I wanted to kill you, I wouldn’t have to make you drop your guard or resort to any type of subterfuge to do so.”
“Over the years, decades, centuries…” Adam began, laying his head on the back of the couch, his eyes gazing up at the ceiling.
Xavier rolled his eyes. “I get the point, you’re old. Get on with it.”
This is an except from my book, Assassin’s Heart. You can pick it up from Total-E-Bound by clicking the cover over there in the sidebar. Enjoy!
“This store has always—always—been nothing but Greeks and I let one—one—fucking Italian in here and look what happens.”
“I’m German-Italian, you old fuck!”
The old man laughed in derision. “And that’s supposed to make everything all right?”
“No, it doesn’t make it all right, but this will.” With those final words, Rhys pulled the trigger of his gun, sending a bullet into the skull of his former employer and the father of one of his best friends.
Another snippet from my WiP Voyeur. Enjoy!
Gage smirked. “And is there a line of people waiting for the chance to do that?”
“One of the guys who tends bar, Bryce, has asked me out a couple of times. I’m not really sure I want to take him up on it though.”
“Why not? I’ve known Bryce for years. He’s a good guy.”
Chi placed his plate on the nightstand. “Well, if you haven’t noticed,” he paused and took Gage’s plate, setting it with his. “I’m more interested in you.”
Gage swallowed hard at the intense look in Chi’s eyes. “The, uh,” he cleared his throat, “feeling is mutual.”
This is an excerpt from a work currently in progress called Voyeur. Hope you enjoy it!
“This is by far bigger than I ever expected,” Ben said as he placed his arm over Gage’s shoulders.
Gage grinned smugly. “Didn’t I tell you not to ever doubt me, Benny? How long have we known each other?”
“Since we were five, so thirty years.”
“Thirty years. And still you doubt me when I tell you something is going to blow the fuck up.”
“In my defense, your failures have far outweighed your successes.”
Gage gasped and grabbed his at his chest. “Ouch, that hurt.”
Ben rolled his eyes walked slowly toward the entrance. “I’m sure you’ll get over it. Come on, let’s get back in there and enjoy all our hard work.”
This is a little excerpt from a WiP that has been shelved for another day.
“So, do you have a name?”
Looking up, I raised my eyebrow and smiled. “Sure, doesn’t everybody?”
“Yeah, I guess they do. What’s yours?”
“What’s yours?” I shot back with a sarcastic tone lacing my voice.
“Royce Fincher at your service, ma’am.”
“Don’t call me ma’am,” I began as I placed his change on the counter in front of me, “makes me feel older than I actually am.”
This is an excerpt of a WiP that is for a special submission for one of my publishers. Hope you enjoy it!
Cole turned to face his friend and rested his head beneath Syd’s chin as he continued to weep. “I feel so fucking broken,” he said quietly. “I don’t know what to do. I’m just going through the motions, making everyone think that I’m doing fine, when the truth is…I’m not.” His body shuddered with the strength of his sobs. “I’m not fucking fine!”
Syd kissed his head and inhaled deeply.
This is a snippet from a manuscript I recently sold to Total-E-Bound publishing. It is tentatively slated for release December 10th, 2012.
Devry snatched his hand back. “Asshole.”
“Yeah, but you love me.”
“You’d like to think that wouldn’t you?” Devry looked up at Holden with a grin on his face.
Holden gasped in mock shock. “So, you’ve been lying to me for two years?”
“Not exactly. When I’ve said ‘I love you’, I’ve actually been talking to your dick.”
Holden shrugged. “Well, at least you love some part of me.”
